PBS Policies

Your own branded policy pack, handbooks, risk assessments and toolbox talks - produced in the browser from a starter library for civils construction, with your business substituted throughout, then downloaded.

Price: £600 / year, or £52.50 / month · no setup fee · see full pricing

Private pilot. PBS Policies is live behind a sign-in. Access is on request and new accounts are held for approval, so ask us and we will let you in. The document library is still being written, so treat what is in there today as a strong starting point rather than a finished set.

You do not have to take that on trust: try four sample documents in the browser, with your own business name substituted through them, and download what comes out.

The job it does

Not a folder of templates to retype, and not a subscription to somebody else's handbook. You put your business in once and the documents come out in your name, ready to read, change and hand over.

It starts full, not empty

The starter content is deliberately heavy: policies, staff handbooks, risk assessments and around five hundred toolbox talks written for civils construction. You are choosing what applies to you and cutting what does not, which is a much shorter job than writing from nothing.

Your business, substituted throughout

Company name, trading name, the names and job titles of the people who sign things off, your labels and your logo are put through every document, so the pack reads as one business's paperwork rather than a pile of forms from different places.

Amend on screen, then download

Every document can be taken as it stands or edited in the browser first and then downloaded. A document you cannot change is one you end up rewriting somewhere else, which is how a policy pack and what a business actually does drift apart.

Paperwork, not a certificate

It produces your documents. It does not assess your business, inspect your sites, approve anything or make you compliant with anything — no software can, and any that says otherwise is selling you a feeling. What you do with the documents is the part that counts.

Where the structure came from

Not a bought framework. A spreadsheet, and years of being the person who had to produce this paperwork.

The hard part of a policy pack is not the writing, it is working out what a business of this shape actually needs and in what order — and that came out of our own spreadsheet rather than a template library somebody licensed to us. The wording is still being written, by us, by hand. We would rather say that than call a library complete because it has a lot of files in it.

Guides

Plain explanations of the paperwork you get asked for, written from the schemes' own published criteria. No sign-up, nothing gated.

  • How to pass a CHAS assessment — what SSIP means, the document list, what it costs, and the five reasons small firms get bounced.
  • RAMS explained — what a risk assessment and method statement must contain, and what a main contractor checks first.

Every guide names its sources and the date they were read. All guides.
